Support Mayor Kevin Schilling for State Representative in the 33rd LD – A Champion for Common Sense
Burien Mayor Kevin Schilling is a proven leader who has committed himself to the community in the 33rd LD. The district is in King County and consists of east Burien, Normandy Park, SeaTac, Des Moines and parts of Kent, Tukwila, and Renton. Kevin will be running for the House seat in the Special Election this summer in the 33rd Legislative District.
Mayor Schilling was elected in 2023 and 2019 in Burien, both with 60% of the vote. As Mayor and a Councilmember in Burien, he has championed common sense public safety and homelessness programs that has led to getting folks off the streets and into services. He’s grown the number of housing and businesses and taken the city from a deficit to a revenue increase. During this time Mayor Schilling has also served as the government affairs director for the Washington State Dental Association.
Prior to serving as Mayor, Kevin worked as Political Director for Congressman Derek Kilmer, worked as a session aide for Governor Jay Inslee, taught religion to middle schoolers, and served in AmeriCorps during COVID. He is a graduate of Washington State University and has a dual master’s degree from Columbia University and the London School of Economics. Additionally, he is a Senior Executive in State and Local Government from Harvard Kennedy School.

He has already secured early endorsements from mayors and councilmembers in the district, the Rental Housing Association and the Multi-Family Housing Association, the Sailors Union of the Pacific, Operating Engineers, and the Painters and Allied Trades.
