We wanted to provide you a summary of the bills that passed this 2026 Legislative Session.
Major Update! The Certified Mailing requirement is NO longer in effect (effective date: June 11th, 2026). Landlords/Housing Providers can now send rental notices* via First-Class Mail within Washington State. Please note, all rental notices must be sent to each adult tenant/occupant in writing (hard copy).
*Rental Notices: This refers to any Rent Increase Notice, Pay or Vacate Notice, Notice to Comply or Vacate, and any Termination/Non-Renewal of Tenancy Notice.
