Supreme Court Voter Guide – PDF LINK
Five of the nine seats on the Washington State Supreme Court are on the ballot this November. It is a rare chance to shape the direction of the court for years to come, and I wanted to make sure you had the attached one-page guide before your ballot arrives.
Why These Races Matter
The Supreme Court has the final word on how Washington law is applied, including on the issues our members care about most. A majority of the court is up at once, and that almost never happens. These races are nonpartisan and sit at the bottom of the ballot, so many voters skip them entirely. That means a relatively small number of informed voters will decide them.
Our Recommendations
The attached guide lists five candidates we believe will bring balance, independence, and sound judgment to the bench. They are in priority order, so if you are able to lend support, it goes furthest when it starts at the top of the list.
- Sean O’Donnell, Supreme Court Position 4
- Dave Larson, Supreme Court Position 5
- David Stevens, Supreme Court Position 3
- Scott Edwards, Supreme Court Position 1
- Todd Bloom, Supreme Court Position 7
The attached guide (see link above) has more on each candidate.
