HB 1217:    This legislation makes changes to the residential landlord-tenant act and the manufactured/mobile home landlord-tenant act by:

·    7% cap

·    180-day notice for 3% increases

·    1.5% cap on late fees

·    ⁠Local governments can adopt rules and enforce, CPA violation

·    Can’t give preferable terms for longer lease periods

·    ⁠Limits move in and security deposit combined to 1 months’ rent

·    Includes vacation rentals

·    Exempts non-profits and gov’t run, to include vouchers

·    ⁠Exemption in first 10 years of certificate of occupancy

·    Responsible for attorney fees if tenant files claim any of the above have been violated.
